FREMONT — Migrant families with children up to 5 years old are now eligible for expanded preschool and Head Start programming through the Great Lakes Community Action Partnership.

“The expansion of eligibility requirements will allow for wider access to early education for farming families in GLCAP’s service region,” Joan Oliver, a support services coordinator, said.

If one person’s family income comes primarily from agricultural employment including harvesting, raising livestock, processing, and other related work, the family can receive no-cost full-day early education for infants and children up to 5.

The partnership with the Migrant and Seasonal Head Start program focuses on school readiness, socialization, and other important developmental needs, Ms. Oliver said.

In Northwest Ohio, centers are located in Napoleon and Fremont. For more information, go to glcap.org/mshs or call 1-800-775-9767.
