Raymundo shared a tip if you want to speed up your service at a restaurant.

His friend puts his phone at the edge of the table and turns on the stopwatch. The second you sit at the table; you press start and it stays up the whole time. This way, you’re able to see how long it takes to get your drinks, appetizers, meal and check. Not only is it informative to see how long things take, but it also speeds up service and his friend said he’s never had a bad meal since he started doing it.

Everyone thought this was a terrible idea because it would piss the servers off, and they might spit in your meal. Bobby Bones thought it would be better to time it secretively, but if you put it on the table, you may have to deal with things that might happen that you don’t see. No one saw any positives in doing it because they would be so concerned they would do something with the food they could not enjoy their meal and everyone agreed you shouldn’t do that because it makes the servers feel like they are being monitored. Raymundo got the idea from another restaurant because they told them they only had one hour to eat, so they set up the stopwatch to make sure they were out of their table on time.

Lunchbox was the only person who kind of liked the idea because it guaranteed great service. You are there for a great experience and if they want to give you great service, they see the timer and realize they are under a little more pressure and up their standards. If they see the stopwatch and get lazy, you can give them a bad tip and explain why. This “hack” reminded Eddie of when his dad would put money on the table and would take some bills away if the service was not up to par. He also hated that idea and thought it was unfair to do to the servers.
