The 2024 race will feature Democrat incumbent Derell Wilson versus Republican challenger Nick Casiano. Wilson was elected to the 46th District House seat In Nov. 2022.
The Connecticut State House is the lower chamber of the Connecticut General Assembly. There are 36 state senators, and 151 state representatives. The salary for state representatives and state senators is $40,000, a figure that was increased from $28,000 in 2023.

I believe in a government that listens to its constituents and works to get out of their way so they can improve their lives.
What three bills would be your priority this term? 1. A bill restricting law enforcement from purchasing bulk data from Google, Facebook and other social media companies to circumvent 5th amendment restrictions. 2. A balanced budget bill requiring the state budget to be within the expected revenue sources limiting use of deficits/debt to fund the government. 3. Review and repealing state mandates on city budgets that impose costs on cities with no funding source.

Increasing School Construction Reimbursement rate for School Construction Project, Increasing funding for Excess Cost Sharing for school districts, Improvement of Women's Health Resources in Eastern CT with a focus of Black maternal health needs across the region.
