A new boys name tops Vermont's most popular baby names list. See the top 10

There's a new most popular name for baby boys in Vermont.

On Thursday, the Social Security Administration released the top baby names for boys and girls born in 2023 - nationally and by state, showing some shifts in the most popular names for Vermont's newborns.

The boys list had Oliver, Henry and Theodore, with Henry, which had been the most popular name in 2022 and 20201, losing first place.

The legacy of Amelia Earhart lives on in Vermont, with her name taking the top spot for the second year in a row, followed by Eleanor and Charlotte.

Eleanor made the massive leap from ninth to second place this year, pushing down Charlotte and Evelyn.

What are the most popular names in the U.S.?

Surprisingly, despite being the most popular names in the country, Olivia and Liam were not in the top 10 of the 2023 Vermont list. In the case of the boys', Theodore and Henry, which rank low nationally, were in stark contrast being two of the top choices in the Green Mountain State.
