Vote for the Vermont high school football preseason player of the year

For the second straight fall, the Burlington Free Press is putting the fans of Vermont high school football to the test.

Get out and vote for the 2024 Free Press Fan’s Choice Preseason Football Player of the Year. Thirty players, one from each team in the state, have been placed on the ballot and have the chance to garner some early bragging rights.

Last fall, Lyndon linebacker/running back Chase Sanville garnered 60,921 votes to earn the preseason POY honor .

How do I cast my vote?

All voting is through the ballot at burlingtonfreepress.com . We will not accept votes through email or through social media.

Voting began on Friday, Aug. 23, and continues through 11:59 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 30.

What are the voting rules?

Readers are allowed to vote multiple times in a day, but are limited to one vote per hour.

How do we learn who wins?

The winner will be announced at burlingtonfreepress.com on Friday, Aug. 31.
