The new campaign kicked off Thursday, Aug. 29, when defending Division II state champion North Country hosted U-32 in Newport. Fourteen more games are on tap Friday and Saturday for the Week 1 slate. The eight-week regular season moves advances to postseason play on Oct. 18-19 with quarterfinals. A week after semifinals, a championship tripleheader is set for Saturday, Nov. 9 at St. Johnsbury Academy.

Burr and Burton in Division I and Windsor in D-III are the state's other reigning state champions.
