Lillie Mae Smith Ray

Lillie Mae Smith Ray, 85, of Rougemont, died on Tuesday, May 28, 2024. Born in Franklin County, she was the daughter of the late David Lee Smith and Maude Edwards Smith. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sons: David Wayne Ray and Michael Anthony Ray; one brother, Linwood Smith; two sisters: Betsy Wester Hall and Margaret Patterson (Sis); one son-in-law, Ronald Ray Brooks, Sr. Mrs. Ray was a member of First Baptist Church in Butner.

Surviving are her four children: Donna Ray Sommer (Mark) of Stem, Kimberly Ray Price of Nebo, Wanda Ray Brooks of Rougemont and Richard Lee Ray (Linda) of Butner; two brothers: David Smith (Barbara) of Fayetteville and Earl Smith (Judy) of Kinston; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
