Sheriff’s Office investigates shooting on Windwood Circle

The Granville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that occurred Sept. 3 inside a home at 3501 Windwood Circle, Oxford.

Around 7:50 p.m., Granville County Sheriff’s Office deputies and Granville EMS responded to 3501 Windwood Circle following a report of a woman being shot.

Preliminary information indicates that around 7:35 p.m. the alleged suspect, Andre Stephon Jones, 45, of 3508 Windwood Circle, entered the residence and shot a 35-year-old woman and a 42-year-old man.

The 42-year-old man left the scene of the shooting prior to the arrival of deputies and was located at 1983 US Highway 15 (Danny’s Store).

The suspect fled the scene of the shooting and is currently wanted by the Granville Sheriff’s Office for multiple counts of assault with a deadly weapon, inflicting serious injury, with intent to kill.

The suspect is assumed to be armed and dangerous. The Granville County Sheriff’s Office requests that anyone with information or surveillance footage of the area call the GCSO at 919-693-3213.
