<div> Caledonia Community Ed/Eitzen Lions T-ball/Peewees Baseball Academy started another big season of baseball for the summer. T-ball has some great new rookies this year and a wonderful season thus far, with moments of laughter, tears, dirt piles, organized chaos and waving at parents, grandparents and friends as players run to first base. These little t-ballers remind us all that's it's about family and having fun. Peewees Academy has had some big time pressure-filled moments down in Eitzen, in front of big crowds this summer on Tuesday and Friday nights. Peewees have 9 teams this season, consisting of over 115 kids. The first night of games were on June 20. The season started with a bang and a huge, towering solo home run over-the-fence by Briggs Middendorf. The following week, Mary Schieber and Sophia Tenkley were making numerous defensive plays, with some web gems and great throws. Will Goetzinger and Dallas Burrichter also had great nights at the plate. <nbtemplate data-id="AdPlaceholder" data-content="JTdCJTdE"></nbtemplate> Isaac Diersen was the first player with a multi home run game, hitting 2 grand slams and then repeated that performance 2 weeks later in another game. During the July 7 slate of games Everett Longmire had a game winning RBI single to score Middendorf for the win against Yellow, 14-13. In the July 11 slate of games White won, 26-16, behind a big grand slam by Colton Schuttemeier. Cameron Emerson also scored a game winning run on a 2 run single by Gunnar Rask to win 16-15 over Team Orange! Some other highlights included Graham Engen and Bane Ramsay hitting 3 run home runs, as well as Cole Klug and Luke Vesterse hitting grand slams. Owen Myhre and Gage Goetzinger also hit solo home runs. It's been an exciting and wild season so far.
