The Warriors girls soccer squad lost on Tuesday, Sept. 10 in La Crescent by a score of 10-0 but regained their form and came back to compete against Dover-Eyota on Thursday, Sept. 12. They fell in this match as well, but only by a score of 2-0.

In the match against La Crescent, the Lancers held control the entire duration and didn’t let up.

On Thursday, the team bounced back and competed against the Dover-Eyota Eagles at home. Alexis Qualy had an outstanding game at goalkeeper for the Warriors only allowing two goals on the night though the Eagle’s offense was relentless. A stark difference in this game was the willingness of the athletes to be physical with the other team on defense. Unfortunately, the offense could not get going in this match.

Dover-Eyota scored twice, once in the first half at 22:23, and then again late in the second half at 12:31. All throughout the game, the Caledonia/Spring Grove/Houston defense held tough, but it was not enough to earn the win.

Over the weekend, the team was able to take part in two games in Lake City against Triton/Kenyon-Wanamingo/Hayfield and Lake City.

The Warriors had a great game against Triton/K-W/Hayfield, scoring five goals in the first half alone and then tacking on two more goals in the second half. T/K-W/H scored once in the first half, and the final score was 7-1 by the end of the game.

Against Lake City, the fortune swapped. Lake City was able to score four goals, and the Warriors couldn’t come back, though they did score one goal, making it 4-1 for Lake City.

Next on the schedule for Warriors girls soccer was a matchup against Cotter High School at home on Tuesday, Sept. 17.
