Carroll netters fall to Radford

Carroll County’s boys’ tennis team fell to 8-5 on the season following a 6-3 New River District loss May 13 to Radford.

While the Cavaliers lost the overall match, the top-seeded duo of Jabin Talley and Ethan Richardson continued to shine for Carroll. Talley won with ease 8-2 at the No. 1 singles match, while Richardson cruised to an 8-0 victory at No. 2. The two also teamed for Carroll’s lone doubles victory as they defeated Radford’s No. 1 tandem by a count of 8-3.

Phoenix Baker dropped an 8-2 decision for the Cavs at No. 3 singles, while No. 4 Paul Marshall battled through an injury before falling 8-2. Garrison Wheatley lost 8-2 at No. 5 singles and Louis Marshall fell 8-3 at No. 6.

Baker and Wheatley lost 8-1 at No. 2 doubles for Carroll, while Paul and Louis Marshall lost by a score of 8-4 at No. 3 doubles.
