Milepost Music brings live music to Mabry Mill this month

MEADOWS Of Dan– Milepost Music is bringing live mountain music to Mabry Mill, located at milepost 176 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan. Free outdoor concerts will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., on the first and third Sundays in August.

"Lovely Mountaineers" will perform on Sunday, Aug. 18. Gina and Jason Dilg of Lovely Mountaineers are based in the rolling hills of Southwest Virginia, and play the foot-stomping dance tunes and old country ballads of the American string band repertoire. Both multi-instrumentalists, they love performing for country dances as much as putting on concerts. These days they can be found performing as both a duo and as part of the Agents of Old Time supporting Fiddling Earl White.

Milepost Music concerts are held at Mabry Mill on the first and third Sundays of each month in June, July, August, and September.

Milepost Music is sponsored by Skyline National Bank and Visit Patrick County. Visitors should bring a chair or blanket for seating. Food and drinks are allowed on site, but alcoholic beverages are not permitted.
