Nominations were collected through an online Google form found on the CCPS Internet Website as well as CCPS Facebook page before The Leadership Team reviewed and selected Mike Combs, School Security Officer (SSO) at Fancy Gap Elementary School as Staff Member of the Month for August. Principal Carrie Davis presented Combs with his recognition certificate.
Bobbitt wins BRCC Memorial Tourney
The BRCC Ladies’ Golf Association held its 2024 Memorial Tournament on August 21. This tournament was held in remembrance of all the ladies who played in years past. This year’s winner of the Memorial cup was Sherri Bobbitt with a net score of 66. August Teacher Of the Month honors were given to Hillsville Elementary Kindergarten Teacher Amy Bond, at right. Hillsville Principal Amy Nester recognized Bond with a certificate during the September 10 meeting. The Carroll County School Board recognized Cavalier Kayleigh Johnson, who was one of 33 students accepted in the Sorenson Institute’s High School Leaders Program (HSLP) held July 13th through 27th at the University of Virginia. Williams named Horsewoman of the Year
Kayla Williams of Rural Retreat has been named Southwest Virginia Horsewoman of the Year.
