    Body found in river

A missing Calhoun County teen’s body has been found in the Illinois River.

The Jersey County Coroner reports the body of Bryar DeJaynes was found in the river near Pere Marquette State Park. Autopsy results to determine the cause of death are pending.

DeJaynes was last seen in Pearl where he purchased gas for his boat Sunday before a fishing trip.

    Man arrested for possessing crossbow

A Joliet man was arrested after allegedly shooting a crossbow into his neighbor’s home over a dispute involving $60. Winston Hart has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon.

Police said Hart showed up at his neighbor’s house holding a crossbow. After shooting the first arrow, Hart then allegedly readied another arrow to discharge again.

Officers noted that an arrow was found lodged in the ceiling of the neighbor’s home. The state’s request to detain Hart pre-trial was denied.

    O'Hare parking controls

Illinois lawmakers have passed new legislation that would issue citations to drivers who park on the shoulders of highways near O’Hare International Airport, and could utilize safety cameras to enforce the measure.

The measure prohibits drivers from stopping or parking their vehicles on shoulders of highways within a one-half mile radius of the eastern entrance to the airport.

Sponsors said countless drivers have been parking on the shoulders awaiting traveler arrivals instead of using the cell phone lots within the airport property.
