(The Center Square) – The Cochise County Sheriff's Office is searching for a man wanted on multiple warrants who threatened former President Donald Trump before his visit to the state on Thursday.

Sheriff Mark Dannels' office posted to social media Thursday morning that it was searching for 66-year old Ronald Lee Syvrud of Benson. Syvrud is wanted in Wisconsin for failing to appear in court for a DUI and in Graham County in Arizona in connection with a hit-and-run accident and another felony charge of failing to register in Arizona as a sex offender. He's also wanted in Cochise County for failing to register as a sex offender there.

The office said Syvrud is being sought "as an investigative lead for threats to kill a presidential candidate." Multiple media outlets report that the threats were directed at Trump.

Anyone with information on the suspect should dial 911 or contact local authorities.

The former president is in Arizona Thursday to visit the border before a rally in Glendale Friday.
