    IDFPR warns about student loan scam

    The Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation Division of Banking warned about a new scam that seeks to take advantage of student loan uncertainty. Scammers contact student loan borrowers and make false promises that they can guarantee lower monthly payments or loan forgiveness, often demanding upfront fees. Borrowers who are contacted about these scams should call the Illinois Attorney General’s Student Loan Helpline for assistance.

    State health department urges regular mammograms

    At the start of National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the Illinois Department of Public Health is reminding Illinoisans that early detection is the most effective way to prevent the deadly disease, which is the second leading cause of cancer deaths in women. Officials said regular mammograms can help find breast cancer at an early stage when treatment is most successful. This is why anyone who might have put off getting screened in recent years, due to the pandemic or other reasons, should schedule an exam with their provider.

    Company donates EV charges to Illinois state parks

    Gov. J.B. Pritzker joined the Illinois Department of Natural Resources to announce a donation of multiple electric vehicle chargers from the electric mobility company EVBox to the state. Visitors to Illinois state parks will be able to charge their electric vehicles while camping overnight. The chargers will be placed at Illinois state parks, historic sites, museums, beaches and other public areas.
