    Sirens: Motorcyclist airlifted after crash; suspect provides brother's name after arrest; several vehicles egged

    Centralia Police Department

    Attempted vehicle theft

    • At 10:09 a.m. Aug 14 in the 400 block of North Gold Street, a victim reported someone attempted to steal their vehicle sometime during the night, causing damage to wiring.

    Vehicles egged

    • Officers received a report that several vehicles were egged overnight in the 800 block of G Street. The report was made at 5:47 p.m. Aug. 14.

    Criminal impersonation

    • Javier Lopez-Estevez, 35, of Olympia, was arrested for criminal impersonation after allegedly giving his brother’s name while being arrested at about 6:24 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 100 block of West High Street for stealing from a local clothing outlet then running from officers.

    Motorcyclist airlifted after crash

    • A motorcyclist was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries after a crash at the intersection of Harrison Avenue and Reynolds Avenue at about 10:03 p.m. Aug. 14. The Washington State Patrol assisted with the investigation.

    Burglary

    • Officers responded to the report of a burglary at about 5:37 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 900 block of West Third Street. The victim reported a male subject entered their detached garage and stole fireworks and boots. The homeowner observed the suspect run from the garage carrying a large box of fireworks.

    Criminal trespassing

    • A male subject from Covington was trespassed from a local business after allegedly being disorderly at about 11:36 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 1000 block of South Gold Street.

    Chehalis Police Department

    Vandalism

    • The windshield of an Oldsmobile was smashed in the 300 block of Southwest Third Street, according to a report at 9:57 a.m. Aug. 14.

    Hit-and-run

    • A hit-and-run was reported at 10:31 a.m. Aug. 14 in the 700 block of Northwest Liberty Place. The caller reported his work vehicle was sideswiped sometime overnight.

    • A vehicle took off toward Interstate 5 after striking another vehicle at about 10:55 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 300 block of Northwest North Street.

    Assault

    • A juvenile was arrested after a report of an assault in the 200 block of Southeast Washington Avenue at about 12:17 p.m. Aug. 14. A window was reportedly broken and a juvenile had a laceration on their head.

    Disorderly conduct

    • A “disorderly” man was yelling at vehicles and people and attempted to hit a car at about 12:56 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 1500 block of Northwest Louisiana Avenue. He reportedly had a crowbar.

    Explosion

    • At 1:27 p.m. Aug. 14 in the 300 block of Southeast Washington Avenue, a caller reported hearing an explosion just before power was cut out for a building and elevator. A Lewis County Public Utility District crew was sent to the scene.

    Criminal trespassing

    • A man was “moved along” by officers after a report of criminal trespassing at 7:32 a.m. Aug. 15 in the 700 block of West Main Street.

    Suspicious circumstances

    • A caller was advised to pursue a court order after reporting suspicious circumstances involving ownership of a cat, according to a report at 12:43 p.m. Aug. 15 in the 300 block of West Main Street.

    • A man inside an office in the 300 block of Northwest North Street was wearing a black mask and recording video of people at about 2:35 p.m. Aug. 15. An officer advised that the man was within his rights to be recording in the building.

    Crash

    • A motorist was reportedly “aggressive” after being involved in a crash in the 2600 block of Northeast Kresky Avenue at about 1:45 p.m. Aug. 15. There were no injuries after the two-vehicle crash.

    Jail Statistics

    Lewis County Jail

    • As of Friday morning, the Lewis County Jail had a total system population of 135 inmates, including 122 in the general population and 13 in the Work Ethic and Restitution Center (WERC). Of general population inmates, 95 were male and 27 were female. Of the WERC inmates, 11 were male and two were female.
