Cub Scout Pack 324, located in Winlock and serving surrounding communities, will host a free family s’mores and fireside event on Thursday, Sept. 12.

The event will take place at 5 p.m. at the American Legion hall located at 575 Nevil Road in Winlock.

The event will happen rain or shine as the American Legion hall has both an indoor and outdoor firepit.

Scouting America (recently changed from Boy Scouts of America) endeavors to develop American citizens who are physically, mentally and morally fit. However, according to a news release, the scouts may be more likely to say they’re in it for the fun.

Cub Scouts is for elementary aged children in grades kindergarten through fifth grade. Pack 324 meets every first and fourth Thursday of the month at 5 p.m. at the American Legion hall in Winlock.
