The Chronicle asked readers and followers on social media to share their photos from Thursday night's dazzling Northern Lights show, and they delivered.

This gallery includes just some of the hundreds of photos submitted to The Chronicle on Thursday night and Friday via news@chronline.com .  Each photo is marked with the name of the photographer and the general location where it was captured.

The Chronicle thanks all residents who took the time to share their photos. We wish we could have processed and shared them all, but the sheer volume was  overwhelming.
