The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles held 29 hearings on July 31, granting parole in seven hearings, one of which featured a Chilton County offender.

Kendall Darnell Brown was granted parole by the board, but with special conditions. The parole was granted with the expectation that Brown will complete a mental health follow-up, a drug assessment and wear an ankle monitor upon his release. No one spoke in favor or against Brown receiving parole during his hearing.

Brown was serving a 60-month sentence for a Theft of Property III arrest on November 9, 2023. Brown had served one year and eight days of his sentence when his parole was granted. Brown had 102 days of jail credit and 437 days of good time received as well.

Brown previously served two years, 10 months and seven days of a 10-year sentence for a Robbery II arrest on June 24, 1996 in Chilton County.
