Thorsby sets playoff scoring record against Chickasaw
Thorsby High School set a new playoff scoring record with a 50-16 win over Chickasaw High School in the first round of the AHSAA Class 2A State Playoffs. The Rebels needed just one half to put together their record-breaking performance of 50 points, beating their previous high of 42 points in a 42-14 win over Geneva County High School in the first round in 2017.

Maplesville handles Choctaw County in first round
The last time Maplesville High School made the AHSAA state football playoffs and lost in the first round, the most popular song in the country was “Low” by Flo Rida and T-Pain. The Red Devils have won in the first round of the playoffs every year since 2009, and that did not change on Nov. 9 taking down Choctaw County 41-14 in the first round of the AHSAA Class 1A State Playoffs.
