CLEMMONS — The Village of Clemmons invites the community to join in the festivities for National Night Out and Movie Night on Friday, Aug. 2, starting at 6:30 p.m. at the Jerry Long YMCA.

National Night Out, celebrated a few days early by the village, is an annual event aimed at strengthening the bond between communities and law enforcement agencies. This year, Clemmons will host its officers from the Clemmons Community Police Force and others from the Forsyth County Sheriff’s Office, including members of the K-9 unit, motorcycle unit and ATV team. The event aims to promote police-community partnerships and foster safer, more unified neighborhoods.

Following the National Night Out activities, the village of Clemmons will continue the celebration with an outdoor movie under the stars at sunset. Families are encouraged to bring their own chairs and blankets to enjoy the feature film, “Napoleon Dynamite” (2004, PG), projected on a large screen.

Throughout the evening, attendees can also indulge in a variety of foods from local food trucks, adding to the festive atmosphere of the event.

“We are thrilled to host National Night Out and Movie Night in the Village this year,” Mayor Mike Rogers said. “It’s a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, meet our local law enforcement officers, and enjoy a fun-filled evening with family and friends.”

The event is free and open to the entire community. Residents are encouraged to mark their calendars for this special evening of community-building and entertainment.

The Jerry Long YMCA is located at 1150 S. Peace Haven Road, Clemmons.
