In-State LB Set to Visit Clemson for First Time - The 3-star LB will work out at camp next month

Jaquel Holman is about to make his first-ever visit to Clemson.

Despite being an in-state recruit, the 3-star ATH (Blackville-Hilda) has never visited Dabo Swinney’s program.

However, that will change on June 4 when Holman is set to camp at Clemson.

“Being a in-state kid, I always heard about Clemson being a winning program,” Holman told The Clemson Insider. “They do a okay job recruiting in-state guys.”

While some schools are recruiting Holman as a safety, the Tigers see him as an outside linebacker, and Holman will get to show off his skills for defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Wes Goodwin next month.

“I want to run a 4.3 or low 4.4 and have a really good day,” Holman said. “And hopefully get a offer.”

The 6-foot-2, 220-pound recruit also runs track and just won state titles in the 100M and 200M, as well as the 4×100 relay. South Carolina has been showing a lot of interest of late and with the Tigers still looking to add a linebacker to the 2025 class, Holman is hoping to earn an offer from Clemson with his performance at camp.

“I would really love that,” Holman said. “Because they’re a very good in-state school and I’m also being recruited by the two big name schools in the state. That would be a big time.”

While Holman has yet to decide on a definite timeline for making a decision, he does know that he is looking for a school that will develop him as a player and a man, as well as provide him with a top-notch education.

“A school where I could get a great education,” Holman said. “Where they make me feel at home. And a school that’s gonna develop me to better on and off the football field.”
