Rising Local 4-Star Hopes to Show What He Can Do at Clemson Camp

Clemson will get an up-close look this summer at a local four-star edge rusher who has seen his recruiting stock rise of late.

Eastside High School (Taylors, S.C.) class of 2025 defensive end Jaquavious Dodd is set to work out at the Dabo Swinney Camp on June 4 after recently scoring a camp invite from the Tigers.

The 6-foot-6, 225-pound rising senior is ready to show Clemson’s staff what he brings to the table as a player at his position.

“I hope coaches will see my speed, athleticism and my aggression,” Dodd told The Clemson Insider.

Dodd’s recruitment has picked up steam following his strong performance at the Under Armour Camp in Charlotte earlier this month.

South Carolina, Georgia State and Arkansas State are among several schools that have offered Dodd since that camp took place on May 12. He went into the camp already holding offers from schools such as Virginia Tech, App State, East Carolina, Liberty and UConn.

Coming up for Dodd are a couple of official visits in June.

“Recruiting has been crazy the last couple of weeks,” he said. “It really started to pick up with some of the offers I’ve got and after the Under Armour Camp. I have two OVs scheduled next month (to Virginia Tech and UConn). I have been blessed with the offers that I have gotten so far.”

While Dodd didn’t grow up a Clemson fan in particular, an offer from the Tigers would nonetheless be significant for the Palmetto State prospect, should he receive one moving forward.

“I know Clemson has a history of developing defensive linemen,” he said. “I did not grow up a fan of one particular school. I just like good football and the family environment that Clemson is known for. It always hits different receiving an offer from a school in your home state.”

Dodd is rated as a four-star prospect by multiple recruiting services. According to the 247Sports Composite, he is the No. 2 prospect in the state of South Carolina, No. 21 edge defender nationally and No. 248 overall prospect in the 2025 class.

As a junior last season, Dodd 48 tackles, 24 tackles for loss and 12 sacks.
