Clemson paid a visit last week to this four-star offensive line prospect in the 2025 class, and he is now set to be on hand for the Tigers’ big official visit weekend.

Rowan Byrne of Iona Prep (New Rochelle, N.Y.) is one of the sought-after recruits who will be in Tiger Town next weekend taking an official visit from May 31-June 2.

“I am really, really looking forward to my visit, I think it is going to be awesome,” Byrne told The Clemson Insider. “Clemson is such a great place and program. It will be great to see it in person!”

Byrne is the top-ranked prospect in the state of New York regardless of position, per Rivals.

Clemson offensive line coach Matt Luke stopped by Byrne’s school to see him last week.

“It meant a lot for coach Luke to come by my school,” Byrne said. “Showed how he is really interested in me and showed me how much he values me as a prospect.”

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound rising senior has been in contact with Luke since January, not too long after Luke took over as the Tigers’ new offensive line coach.

“I think he is a great guy,” Byrne said. “We’ve got a great relationship, and as a coach he is easily one of the best OL coaches in the nation. Great coach and a better man!”

Byrne is very intrigued by Clemson and high on Dabo Swinney’s program as he gets ready to make next weekend’s official visit.

“My interest level in Clemson is extremely high, it is one of the best programs in the nation,” he said. “I think it is a great program, great development, great everything. Definitely a top-of-the-line program in all aspects.”

Byrne isn’t sure exactly when he will come to his college decision, but as of now, he expects to make a pre-senior-year commitment.

His list of more than two dozen offers includes schools such as Florida State, Michigan State, Penn State, Boston College, Duke, Florida, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Stanford, Syracuse, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.

“My commitment timeline is pretty fluid, most likely before my senior year,” he said. “Going to take my OVs and see what school is best for me!”

Although Clemson has not yet offered Byrne, that figures to likely change when he’s in town for the official visit – and he says that offer would certainly be a big one for him.

“It would definitely mean a lot to me to get an offer from Clemson, one of the best programs in the country,” he said. “It would definitely mean a lot to me.”
