Antonio Williams feels he is a good talent evaluator, particularly when it comes to the position he plays himself.

And the redshirt sophomore Clemson wide receiver had one word to sum up his first impressions of the Tigers’ highly touted true freshmen wideouts – Bryant Wesco and T.J. Moore.

    “Ballers,” Williams said Wednesday.

“I feel like I have a really good eye for talent, especially at the receiver position,” he added, smiling. “So, yeah, I can tell when somebody is going to make an immediate impact, and I think they both have the chance to do that.”

Wesco was a consensus top-80 national prospect in the 2024 recruiting class, ranked as high as the No. 7 receiver and No. 28 overall prospect in the country by ESPN.

Meanwhile, Moore was billed as a unanimous top-50 national recruit, with 247Sports ranking him as the No. 4 wideout and No. 21 overall prospect nationally in the 2024 class.

Both of the Tigers’ new pass-catchers bring explosive playmaking ability to the table.

“They were highly rated guys, most of you already know that,” Williams said. “But from my point of view, they’re definitely special.”

Wesco, who enrolled early at Clemson in January, recorded 109 receptions for 1,903 yards and scored 29 touchdowns during his prep career at Midlothian (Texas) High School.

The 6-foot-2, 182-pounder impressed during the spring and showed his potential in April’s spring game, hauling in three of five targets for 26 yards, including an outstanding, over-the-shoulder 9-yard touchdown grab .

“I would say just his ability to influence at the top of routes,” Williams said of what makes Wesco special. “You saw in the spring game – he can make spectacular catches. So just that size and frame and quickness he has, he has the chance to be special for sure.”

Moore, who enrolled this summer, tallied 92 receptions for 2,293 yards and 30 touchdowns across his junior and senior seasons at Tampa (Fla.) Catholic while averaging 96 receiving yards per game. The 6-foot-3, 198-pounder posted 100 receiving yards in 12 games over his final two years.

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney shared what he’s seen from Moore so far in fall camp, saying this week Moore is “exactly” what the Tigers hoped they were getting.

As for Williams’ early thoughts on Moore?

“He definitely has a chance to make an immediate impact just like Wesco,” Williams said.
