CLEMSON – Clemson, ranked No. 14 in the preseason polls, continues fall camp in preparation for the 2024 season with Game 1 against top-ranked Georgia less than three weeks away.

Junior linebacker Wade Woodaz spoke with the media following Monday’s practice at Memorial Stadium.

–Woodaz has been impressed by the freshman class, especially guys like Ashton Hampton, Sammy Brown, Ricardo Jones and even his little brother Drew. Woodaz went on to say that Jones “brings juice to the defense” and complimented the level of passion he has seen from him throughout camp.

–As an upperclassman, Woodaz said he wants to step up as a leader. He said, “I want to serve myself as a leader on this team and help push us to what our goals are, which is to get back to the top of the mountain.”

–Looking back on last year, the junior has made mental strides in the offseason. He said, “I’ve gotten way more comfortable in camp with making mistakes, obviously, because that is what you learn from. Changing the way I think on the field and start thinking more big picture rather than what is my responsibility.”

-Woodaz was impressed with quarterback Cade Klubnik and the offense after the scrimmage on Saturday. He said he is “really proud of all the work they have put in the offseason. They really came together, and I am excited to see how they perform this year.”
