CLEMSON – The media spoke with Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik following Tuesday’s practice at Jervey Meadows. The second-year starter is poised to take on top-ranked Georgia in the opening weekend of the college football season.

–Klubnik started by speaking about his learning curve over the past two seasons.

“I am just looking back, and it is not about you know throwing a 50-yard vertical route, it is just little things that I feel like I am making plays that I would not have made last year. Smarter plays that I have just learned how to manage the game better. I feel like the coaches have seen that through me too.”

–Talking about the meetings between offensive players in the offseason, Klubnik said “I mean more than anything we want to be the smartest team on the field and that was kind of something that me and Paul Tyson had talked about. Kind of take a step that you know might not be something that the coaches are setting up, but they can definitely encourage and help us… meeting up here and there throughout the week and watching kind of last year and staying in the offense so that whenever we hit fall camp it wasn’t like we were doing a full install.”

–When it comes to his group of freshman wide receivers Klubnik is very excited.

“You know just super proud of them, I think they are one group, that is how they view each other you know whether you have got you know two freshman all-Americans like Tyler Brown or Antonio Williams. There is just nobody in that room with an ego or that thinks they are better than anyone else and I think that is kind of how the whole offense is, there is nobody that thinks they are above anybody else.”
