Klubnik Dishes on What Makes 2024 Clemson Receivers Different

With everybody seemingly healthy, there is some cautious optimism surrounding the Clemson wide receiver room.

Over the past couple of seasons, the Tigers have been extremely banged up at the position and the fact that everyone exited fall camp healthy is extremely encouraging. Add in Clemson signing two former 5-star wideouts in Bryant Wesco and TJ Moore in the 2024 signing class and expectations have been raised.

With the Tigers having wrapped up fall camp last week and now fully turning its attention to top-ranked Georgia for the season-opening matchup in Atlanta on August 31, quarterback Cade Klubnik has liked the cohesiveness he has seen from his pass-catchers to date.

“I think they are one group. I think that is how they see each other,” Klubnik said. “Whether you’ve got two freshman All-Americans like Tyler Brown-Antonio Williams, there is nobody in that room with an ego that thinks they are better than anyone else.”

For the Tigers to have the kind of success they want to experience during the upcoming season, there is no doubt that they need more production from the wide receivers. With upperclassmen like Adam Randall and Williams following the lead of receivers coach Tyler Grisham and helping the rest of the room to fully buy in, Klubnik is optimistic about what the passing game can do in year two under Garrett Riley.

“Coach Grish has done a great job by that, just bringing them all together,” said Klubnik. “And I think Antonio and Adam (Randall), they lead that group. They really do and in a special way. They are both killing it in that sense.”

And it’s that kind of selflessness that Klubnik maintains has trickled down throughout the entire offense.

“I think that is kind of how the whole offense is,” Klubnik added. “There is nobody that thinks they are above anybody else and that is just huge. That is how you need to be efficient as an offense. To be able to do that and everybody working together, they are just trying to go be the best they can be.”
