CLEMSON – The 14 th -ranked Clemson Tigers are on their last week of game preparation and will head to Mercedes-Benz Stadium to face off against No.1 Georgia Saturday in Atlanta.

The media had the opportunity to speak with defensive lineman Peter Woods to discuss the Tigers’ season-opener.

–Woods talked about the hard work he has put in this offseason to change his body to become capable of playing the interior and outer edge of the defensive line. “It is just a body fat percentage thing and mine is low at my weight. I feel great where I am at right now and you don’t want to get to lean or you might get a paper cut you know you still got to play football, so right where I am at, I feel great.”

–When asked about the impact of the media perceiving the Tigers as the underdog with no chance to win. Woods had this to say, “I did not really know that, I do not really pay attention to much of that, but you know what matters is what we believe in our facility and within our team. We feel very confident and that is all just based off preparation and that is nothing more or nothing less”.

–Christian Wilkins gave the Tigers’ defensive lineman some insight on how to prepare mentally for the switch to playing defensive end. Wilkins, who played defensive tackle in 2015, played defensive end for Clemson in 2016 before moving back inside in 2017.

“He just gave me a lot of good advice on just not forgetting what you have been taught from your coaches and just translating the things between the two positions. But it really is all the same,” said Woods.
