CLEMSON — Barrett Carter is ready to play some real football.

The 14 th -ranked Clemson Tigers head to Atlanta to take on the No. 1 ranked Georgia Bulldogs Saturday (Noon, ABC) at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Carter spoke to the media to discuss heading back to his home state for the highly anticipated matchup. The linebacker explained how he’s played at Mercedes-Benz on a few occasions, but this one feels “special.”

–He discussed what head coach Dabo Swinney has been stressing to them, saying that they need to be “Playoff ready. Game 1. Play 1.”

Swinney told his players earlier in the week, “There are some teams that have been preparing for the last twelve weeks in order to get the chance to play a team like Georgia in the playoffs. We get the opportunity to play them Week 1,” Barrett Carter said. “To get to open up against a high caliber opponent like Georgia, it really seems like a playoff game and it’s really exciting.”

–Carter also explained how ready he is to get back on the football in a real game setting. “I’m ready to face opponents outside of my teammates… I’m ready to hit someone’s quarterback.”

Carter has nine sacks in his career.
