Clemson Commit Does It All in Dominating Weekend Win

DOUGLASVILLE, GA-Tae Harris’ impressive senior campaign continued on Friday night.

The 2025 Clemson commit shined for Cedartown as the Bulldogs went on the road to Alexander and secured a dominating 63-28 win over the Cougars.

“Great team win for us,” Harris told The Clemson Insider. “Going forward we just need to keep improving and get the job done.”

Harris, who is expected to play safety at the collegiate level, was a force to be reckoned with, playing both ways, while also serving as a return man on the kickoff team. The speedster had a scoop and score that went for about 40 yards and unofficially tallied five tackles from his safety against a run-heavy offense. He also showed excellent coverage skills in the handful of times Alexander attempted to throw the ball down the field.

However, it was on the offensive side where Harris made his biggest impact, and he did it on just five carries. His first went for 15 yards. His second for 10. And it turns out he was just getting warmed up.

His next carry was a 38-yard touchdown. He would hit paydirt on his final two carries, as well, with one going for 80-yards and the other for 39-yards. He also had another long touchdown run called back due to penalty.

What makes the performance even more impressive is that he did all that in just 2.5 quarters, as most of the starters were pulled midway through the third with Cedartown having a commanding lead.

One day after the victory, Harris made his way to Mercedes-Benz Stadium for the Tigers’ season-opening matchup against top-ranked Georgia. While the game did not go they way he had hoped, he did like some of the things he saw from the Clemson defense and remains steadfast in his commitment.

“Two great defenses,” Harris said. “You always have to improve from week one and learn from the mistakes. Go Tigers!”
