4-Star Ohio OL Building Bond with Luke, Set for First Clemson Visit

Clemson has been showing interest in this highly touted Ohio offensive lineman for quite some time, and now he’s set to make his first trip to Tiger Town.

Miami Trace High School (Washington Court House, Ohio) four-star offensive tackle Adam Guthrie has never visited Clemson, though that will change on Saturday when he attends the Tigers’ home opener against Appalachian State.

‘I haven’t been down yet. But I’ll be (at Clemson) for my first time this weekend for the game!” Guthrie told The Clemson Insider.

Guthrie – a top-150 national prospect in the 2026 class – said he communicates with Clemson “every day” and that he and offensive line coach Matt Luke “just talk about everything and anything.”

“Life and building our bond to be honest,” Guthrie added of their conversations. “He’s a great guy outside of being a coach.”

A 6-foot-7, 295-pound junior, Guthrie has garnered more than 30 total scholarship offers, including offers from schools such as Arkansas, Auburn, Boston College, Florida, Florida State, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami, Michigan State, Missouri, NC State, Oregon, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Virginia Tech and West Virginia.

According to Guthrie, Clemson is “doing a great job” with him in the recruiting process.

“Just waiting for an offer to really be able to solidify a spot,” he said.

Guthrie is ranked as the country’s No. 139 overall prospect in the 2026 class by ESPN, which considers him the No. 5 prospect in the state of Ohio and No. 19 offensive tackle nationally for his class.
