CLEMSON – Each week the media who cover the Clemson Tigers get to hear from Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney and a few select players. The media also looks at what the opponent has to say about the upcoming matchup.

This week includes Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney, App State head coach Shawn Clark and players from the Tigers.

Swinney on the App State expectation against top 25 teams:

“Three years in a row they’ve had a top 25 win, so this is what they expect to do. That’s just woven into the DNA of App State. Doesn’t matter where they go, they expect to win”

Clark on his team expecting to win big games:

“People say we’re giant killers, but we expect to win big games…I guess the secrets out that we play well in big games.”

Clark on the environment at Memorial Stadium:

“It’s going to be a hostile environment. It’s again one of the best environments in of all college football and they have a very passionate fan base like ours. We’ve been in situations like this before, so the moment won’t be too big for our players.”

Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik on giving it all against the Mountaineers:

“A very discipline team, they’re not the biggest guys in the world but they’re very physical and very active upfront…you have to give it your all because you don’t want to end up like one of those teams the last three years.”

Clemson wide receiver Tyler Brown on the matchup with App State:

“Talented group, a hungry group. They almost beat North Carolina two years in a row, they’re nobody to look down upon…it’s going to be a good matchup, looking forward to it.”

Clemson cornerback Jeadyn Lukus on App State quarterback Joey Aguilar:

“He’s fearless, I think he’s a really good player and he’ll throw the ball up and trust his receivers and make some plays, so we have to be prepared for that.”

Clemson Safety RJ Mickens on the Tigers staying out of the rearview mirror:

“We really know what we have, and we just have to stay inside out. That’s really how we eliminate doubt…stay out of the rearview mirror and just move forward and focus on App State and put our best performance on the field this Saturday.”
