A former Clemson Tiger has passed away.

Former wide receiver Diondre Overton, who played with the Tigers from 2016-19, has died. He was just 26 years old.

Out of Page High School, in Greensboro, N.C., Overton was a 4-star recruit coming out of high school and joined the Tigers as a member of the 2016 recruiting class. He was also a part of the Tigers’ national title teams in 2016 and 2018.

During his four year career, he was credited with 52 catches for 777 yards, with seven touchdowns over 51 games (five starts). In 2019 he was voted a permanent team captain, was Academic All-ACC and a NFF Hampshire Honor Society member. He was also a two-time All-ACC Honor Roll selection.

After Clemson, Overton would go on to have stints in the CFL, UFL, European Football League and the USFL, and was taken by the Memphis Showboats back in January in the USFL Dispersal Draft.

A limited number of signed footballs from Clemson’s 2022 class are still available.  Get yours while supplies last!  Visit Clemson Variety & Frame or purchase online!
