Georgia State shocked Vanderbilt with a go-ahead touchdown pass in the waning seconds of Saturday’s game, as the Panthers (2-1) pulled off an upset, 36-32 victory over the Commodores (2-1) at Center Parc Stadium in Atlanta.

On the defensive side of the ball, a former Clemson Tiger had himself a day for the Panthers.

Clemson transfer Kevin Swint balled out for Georgia State defensively, tallying eight tackles, two tackles for loss, two sacks, two pass breakups and a forced fumble.

An outside linebacker for the Panthers, Swint is in his second season at Georgia State after transferring from Clemson, where he played in 33 games from 2020-22. He moved from linebacker to defensive end in the 2021 offseason and finished his career as a Tiger with 32 tackles (3.5 for loss), a fumble recovery and a half-sack over 320 defensive snaps.

A native of Carrollton, Ga., Swint earned honorable mention All-Sun Belt honors at GSU in 2023. The 6-foot-3, 242-pounder tied for the team lead with eight tackles for loss while ranking second with four sacks in 11 games, and he recorded 32 tackles with one fumble recovery.
