Swinney Gives Tuesday Injury Update on Peter Woods

During his weekly Tuesday press conference, Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was asked for the latest injury update on Peter Woods.

Swinney said the star defensive lineman is still “day-to-day.”

The sophomore was injured in the first half against App State on Sept. 7, when he got chop blocked below the knees in the second quarter.

Swinney added that Woods has been practicing.

“He’s at practice. He hasn’t missed one yet,” Swinney said. “He’s been out there every day, grinding, working. He stayed here all weekend (during the open date), as a matter of fact, just to continue to work on his rehab.”

Prior to the App State game, Woods tallied a career-high 2.5 tackles for loss, including his first career sack, among his six tackles in Clemson’s season opener against Georgia.

A former five-star prospect from Alabama and 2023 freshman All-American, Woods came into this season credited with 27 tackles (2.5 for loss) and a forced fumble in 307 snaps over 12 games (two starts) last season.
