CLEMSON — The Clemson offense has taken many leaps in the past three weeks, elevating its game to an elite level.

After a rough start to the year against No. 2 Georgia, where the Tigers earned only a field goal, Clemson has scored 125 points in the last two games. It’s an insane stat, but it couldn’t be more than true.

The blocking game is one aspect of play that has contributed highly to the offense’s success. In their wins against Appalachian State and NC State, the Tigers earned 16 offensive touchdowns on the ground and through the air, an all-around affair made possible by time in the pocket and fantastic blocking.

“I think everyone in the Georgia game saw that eleven people need to be doing their job every single play,” Clemson right tackle Blake Miller said. “I told people that, going into App State week, there was too many times where we had ten, and you can’t win against great teams with ten players.”

After that game in Atlanta, it looks as if the offensive line and the entire offense learned they need to do their job.

“I still have yet to be perfect,” Miller said. “But when we have eleven guys doing the right thing, very good things happen for this offense, and I think we’re starting to build confidence in ourselves and people are seeing what it looks like when we do our jobs the right way.”

An important aspect of making sure that all men are doing their jobs is the process of learning what their jobs are. Miller spoke on what it takes to make sure all 11 men are doing their job the best way.

“Preparation is a really big part of it,” he said. “Like I said, knowing what they’re going to do, knowing their tendencies, knowing what they like where and knowing what matchups they like and try to see what guys they’re confident in on the defensive side.”

The 17th-ranked Tigers will continue to prepare more and more in doing their job when they face Stanford at Memorial Stadium on Saturday (7 p.m., ESPN).
