The Clemson Insider wanted to pass along the latest on what we’re hearing about Clemson’s Antonio Williams and his injury.

After speaking with a couple of sources, TCI has learned that Williams sustained a shoulder injury in Saturday’s win over Stanford.

However, based on what we were told, the word is that the redshirt sophomore wideout is OK and will likely be good to play in this Saturday’s game at Florida State.

What we’re hearing aligns with Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney’s comments on Williams’ injury following the Stanford game. Swinney said in his postgame press conference that Williams “got a little banged up” in Saturday’s game but “should be all right.”

Williams had four catches for 37 yards against Stanford. He has played in all four games for the Tigers thus far this season (three starts) and has tallied 16 catches for 196 yards and three touchdowns. He leads the team in receptions and is tied for the team lead in touchdown receptions.

The 5-foot-11, 190-pound native of Irmo, S.C., recorded team highs with six receptions for 76 yards in the season opener vs. Georgia, caught three passes for 44 yards and a touchdown vs. Appalachian State, and notched the second multi-touchdown game of his career in catching two touchdowns among his three receptions for 39 yards vs. NC State.
