Clemson has hosted numerous high school prospects over its first three home games, with many of those experiencing their first ever games at Memorial Stadium.

One of those players is in-state receiver Lennix Valarie (South Florence). The 6-foot-3 high school senior  was in town for the NC State game, attending with his position coach, along with current Clemson commit Amare Adams.

The Clemson Insider caught up with Valarie after the visit and when asked what the highlight of the trip was, the wideout was clear.

“Watching the team run down the hill,” Valarie said.

While on campus, Valarie got to spend some time with some of the coaching staff, including one of the defensive assistants.

“I spoke with coach (Nick) Eason,” he said. “He was pretty much him happy to see me and wanting to see me again.”

Being an in-state recruit, an offer from Clemson would be special for Valarie.

“It would mean a lot,” Valarie added. “I feel like it would get my name out more and show people I can play at the next level.”

Through five games, Valarie is second on his team with 15 catches. His two touchdown receptions are also second on the team. His 21.1 yards per catch leads the Bruins.

As he has gone through the recruiting process, he has been hearing a lot from SC State, Anderson and Limestone and he is looking for a school that feels like home.

“A place where there’s a trustworthy coaching staff, and a place that truly wants me,” Valarie said.
