CLEMSON – Clemson is coming off of three very impressive offensive performances scoring at least 40 points in blowout wins over Appalachian State, NC State and Stanford.

The 15 th -ranked Tigers are looking forward to a road heavy month of October to prove Clemson is ready to get back into College Football Playoff contention.

Running back Phil Mafah spoke with the media earlier this week to preview Saturday’s game against Florida State.

–Mafah on the offensive explosion from the Tigers, and the confidence that it allows for. “It definitely gives us confidence in our work, and it just goes to show that if we put in the work, we can produce the results. It just makes us work that much harder in practice to keep that consistency and just keep encouraging each other so that we will want to work hard and keep producing.”

–When asked about the growth from quarterback Cade Klubnik, Mafah had nothing but high praise. “I have seen so much from Cade, and I have talked about this a lot, but you know he is just grown as a leader, grown in this offense you know being in the second year. He just can get to his reads faster, he is just feeling more confident, he has more chemistry between the different position groups and the timing is just there.”

–Mafah touched on running back Jarvis Green and his growth since being here, “you know he had a problem with that [hamstring] early in the season and he has been taking steps. He works hard every day, and I know he will be an asset to this team. He just has to put his head down and keep working and his opportunity will come I believe that.”
