Dabo Swinney is asking fans for help when it comes to NIL.

While the sport is expected to start sharing revenue with players starting next July, Clemson still needs to be able to compete in the NIL market until that day arrives. That means the school still needs its fan base to keep supporting the 110 Society.

“We need to keep supporting it because you got to July 1,” Swinney said at his weekly press conference on Tuesday “We’ve got a great plan in place. Like I said, we’re gonna operate on rev-share like it starts January. We’re not waiting until July 1 and I think most people probably in our situation will probably do the same thing.”

Swinney added that the school is trying to get out in front of the massive shift in the landscape with the recruits in the 2025 class, similar to the way a lot of other schools have done, as well.

“But we can’t start the rev-share until July 1,” Swinney added. “So we have to raise enough money. We have the money. We can’t share it, though. So you have to go raise money outside of what your in house money is to be able to meet the needs.”

Clemson suffered its third decommitment of the 2025 class on Monday, when QB Blake Hebert flipped to Notre Dame. That leaves the Tigers with just 13 verbal pledges in the class, but Swinney was quick to point out that there are only a dozen seniors set to come off of scholarship after the season. While the staff always has to plan for some unexpected attrition, the head coach really likes where his roster is from a numbers standpoint.

“But we’re in a really good spot. I mean, we’ve got a great roster,” Swinney said. “We’ve only got 12 scholarship seniors, and four of those can come back. You always plan for a little bit of attrition, there’s going to be some of that, but we’ve got a really good roster.”
