    Mafah Finds End Zone Twice to give Tigers lead

    CLEMSON — The Clemson Tigers found the end zone for the first time against the Virginia Cavaliers with a 1-yard rushing touchdown from Phil Mafah, evening the score 10-10.

    Mafah scored again on a 3-yard run with 3:42 to play in the half to give the Tigers a 17-10 lead.

    The first scoring drive started on the Tigers’ 20 yard line and lasted 4:42 and 11 plays.

    Klubnik found wide receiver Troy Stellato for the first first down of the drive and then found Antonio Williams and Phil Mafah for 15 and 22 yard gains.

    The Clemson quarterback launched a bomb to T.J. Moore that was called for pass interference against Virginia defensive back Kendren Smith, giving the Tigers a first down to put them in scoring territory.

    After the penalty, Mafah accounted for two 8-yard gains before his touchdown to put the Tigers deep in Cavalier territory. He finished it off by punching it in with 7:38 left to play in the second quarter.
