A day before the Colorado legislature convenes for a special session to talk about property taxes, Reps. Andrew Boesenecker and Cathy Kipp will host a listening session in Fort Collins.

They've also planned a separate forum on how public school funding works in Colorado.

From 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 17 at the Old Town Library, Kipp and Boesenecker will be joined by DJ Anderson, former Poudre School District board member, to provide information about school finance and answer questions.

The library is located at 201 Peterson St., and the forum will be held in the community room.

Then, from 3 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25 at the Old Town Library, a general listening session is scheduled in the library's Large Meeting Room 1. The session is open for comments, questions, or suggestions, according to information provided by Kipp's office.

The listening session was scheduled before Gov. Jared Polis announced Thursday that he is convening a special session of the legislature to work on property tax relief. That session will happen less than a year after another special session on the same topic and ahead of the November election, which as of now includes two ballot measures on the issue.
