Colorado football's Jordan Seaton meeting high expectations in protecting Shedeur Sanders

The only Colorado football player under more scrutiny than Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter is a true freshman.

Jordan Seaton knew all eyes would be on him as Sanders' blindside protector, and the former five-star offensive tackle is living up to the hype.

An up-and-down start to his college football career was expected. After allowing just two pressures and zero sacks on 41 pass-block snaps at left tackle in the season opener vs. North Dakota State , Seaton (and the rest of the Colorado offensive line) struggled in Week 2.

The Buffaloes allowed six sacks in a 28-10 loss to Nebraska but since then, Seaton has settled in.

Over the last three games (wins vs. CSU, Baylor and UCF), Seaton has allowed just two pressures and zero sacks on 161 pass-block snaps, according to Pro Football Focus . The Buffs' starting left tackle allowed zero pressures with a 78.3 pass-block grade on 42 pass-block snaps during a Week 5 win over UCF.

Seaton is a major reason why Shedeur Sanders has been sacked 18 times through five games after being sacked 25 times through Week 5 of last season.

If Seaton can continue to play at a high level, he's looking at Freshman All-American honors at season's end. More importantly, Colorado will have a chance to contend in the wide-open Big 12.

Seaton and the Buffs are back in action after their Week 6 bye for a matchup with Kansas State. Kickoff from Boulder on Saturday, Oct. 12 is at 8:15 p.m. MT.
