The first six weeks of the college football season proved that the Big 12 Conference is a force to be reckoned with in college football.

That didn't change in Week 7.

No. 19 Kansas State got everything it could handle and more in Colorado on Saturday, who with a win stood to jump into the top 25 heading into Week 8. But a last-minute go-ahead touchdown by the Wildcats , followed by a turnover on downs for the Buffaloes , resulted in a 31-28 defeat, dropping Colorado to 4-2 and 2-1 in Big 12 play. That said, the bigger storyline might be the status moving forward of two-way star Travis Hunter .

One week after picking up its first Big 12 win of the season, Arizona State (5-1, 2-1 in Big 12) picked up its biggest win of the Kenny Dillingham era as the Sun Devils knocked off No. 17 Utah 27-19 at home in Tempe, Arizona. The Utes had no solution for Sun Devils running back Cam Skattebo , who ran for 156 yards and scored two touchdowns in the win.

Elsewhere, No. 15 BYU took down Arizona with ease 41-19, as quarterback Jake Retzlaff and the Cougars offense put up 398 total yards of offense on the day. By picking up its sixth win of the season, the Cougars locked up their seventh bowl eligibility in the Kalani Sitake era. It is also the third consecutive Big 12 game that BYU has scored 30 or more points.
