Apartments, complete with a "Zen courtyard," rooftop lounge and beach volleyball court, are headed to the $250 million TruePointe development in Hilliard.

The Indianapolis developer Milhaus, in partnership with Harbor Group International of Norfolk, Virginia, has started construction on Tempo, a 359-unit apartment building in the development.

The complex, expected to open in spring of 2026, will feature 12 floor plans ranging from studios to three-bedroom apartments.

In addition to the Zen space, "sky lounge" and beach volleyball court, Tempo will include a pool and courtyard featuring cabanas, fire pits and grilling stations; a lounge; coworking spaces; a fitness center; a dog park; and an outdoor pizza kitchen.

Tempo's residents will also have access to TruePointe's amenities, including walking trails, a 6-acre lake and restaurants.

The apartment complex is the latest piece of the TruePointe puzzle to fall into place.

Launched in 2023 by the Hilliard development firm Equity, TruePointe is a 27-acre mixed-use development between Trueman Boulevard and Interstate 270, south of Davidson Road.

When completed, the project is expected to include more than a dozen buildings, offering multiple uses, including offices, homes, a hotel and commercial and restaurant space.

Other tenants in the project include Advanced Drainage Systems, which which is leasing 75,000 of 290,000 square feet of office space planned in the development, and Home2 Suites by Hilton, which plans a 108-room hotel.

Additional office users and tenants for the 42,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space have not been announced.

“TruePointe is truly place-making with partners coming together to create a unique mixed-use destination in Hilliard,” Milhaus development associate Spencer Lee said in a news release. “We are thrilled to be on the forefront of Hilliard’s newest urban environment.”

Tempo is the latest of several central Ohio apartment developments financed by Harbor Group International, which is investing 80% of the equity in the complex.

"The Tempo apartments are a strong addition to Harbor Group International’s extensive portfolio of Columbus-area multifamily communities," Harbor Group International chief investment officer Yisroel Berg said in a news release.
