Ohio State senior Adam Wallin shot a 3-under 69 on Sunday and holds the 54-hole lead at the NCAA Championship in Carlsbad, California.

Wallin is at 5-under par for the tournament and has a two-shot lead over Virginia’s Ben James and Stanford’s Karl Vilips with one round to play.

“I had a really solid day,” Wallin said. “I don’t know exactly how many greens I hit, I think like 16 or something, which was really solid. I never made any mistakes, just strung together a good round of golf.”

The last Ohio State player to win an NCAA Championship was Clark Burroughs in 1985. He is one of five OSU individual champions, including Jack Nicklaus in 1961.

As a team, the Buckeyes are in fifth place. The top eight teams following Monday’s final round will advance to match play to determine a team champion.
