    Pickerington Central's Carson Goulet wins vote for top high school Kicker in central Ohio

    Pickerington Central senior Carson Goulet is the fans' choice for the top high school football kicker/punter in central Ohio. He finished first in a Dispatch poll that accompanied our look at the top 10 kickers and punters in the Columbus area .

    Goulet received 52,488 of 144,965 votes (36.21%), outdistancing Treyton McKee of Bloom-Carroll (42,192 votes; 29.1%), Abe Ulbrich of Columbus Academy (28,127 votes; 19.4%) and Zack Oyster of West Jefferson (15,003 votes; 10.35%).

    Goulet earned second-team all-OCC-Buckeye honors last season. He was 42 of 44 on extra points and 4 of 7 on field goals. As a punter, he had a 39.6-yard average on eight attempts.

    The Tigers open Friday night against Harvest Prep, their first game in the school's new stadium. The rest of Central's schedule is Aug. 30 at Huber Heights Wayne, Sept. 6 vs. Pickerington North, Sept. 13 at Logan, Sept. 20 vs. Canal Winchester, Sept. 27 at Lancaster, Oct. 4 vs. Newark, Oct. 11 vs. Groveport, Oct. 18 at Teays Valley and Oct. 25 vs. Reynoldsburg.
