In his first appearance at a pregame Skull Session before Ohio State vs. Western Michigan , Ohio State football running backs coach Carlos Locklyn issued a challenge.

The former Oregon running backs coach used a quote from legendary coach Woody Hayes about how the song "Hang On Sloopy" fired up his players heading into the fourth quarter of each OSU home game. And Locklyn challenged the fans to use that opportunity to send a message.

"So when the third quarter comes and the best band in the land plays Sloopy, I want you to get up on your feet, I want you to be so loud that the entire country, especially up I-75 North, three-and-a-half hours, 195 miles from here, I want you to let them know that we're coming and we're bringing blood and thunder with us," Locklyn said.

Ohio State running back TreVeyon Henderson said he's so proud of his teammates heading into OSU-Western Michigan.

"We've just been trying to take it day-by-day, to try and get better each and every day," Henderson said. "And today, we're going to focus on today, to strive to be the best team in America and the hardest playing team in America."

Ohio State coach Ryan Day continued that mantra of "one day at a time." But he said each game is building up to what Ohio State wants to achieve.

"We're taking it one day at a time, we're taking it one week at a time, we're taking it one game at a time until we build so much momentum and apply so much pressure to our opponents that they can't hold up anymore," Day said. "And it continues tonight."
